IJah SoulJah – Nothing Good Come Easy

Over alles eigenlijk.

Ali CampbellThe Pierrot dances on
In ever faster paces
The mask remains in place
And nothing ever changes
The headlines scream the news
Another scandal rages
But the Pierrot dances on
And nothing ever changes

The golden goddess
So loved and mourned
By Hollywood’s elite
Whilst evidence was placed and lost
Investigations incomplete
Conspiracies abound
Amid our brothers watchful eye
But despite our need to know
We’re still drowning in their lies

Ali CampbellThe Pierrot dances on
In ever faster paces
The mask remains in place
And nothing ever changes
The headlines scream the news
Another scandal rages
But the Pierrot dances on
Still nothing ever changes

From atop the grassy knoll
A hidden snipers view
But still all these years later
What was false and what was true
Uncovered plots and secret plans
We follow every lead
We analyse and theorise
About the jigsaw piece we need

Ali CampbellSo history repeats it’s lesson
One we can’t dismiss
And over time an English rose
Is added to their list
We watch underhand manoeuvres
From Wallstreet to Iran
The fates of twins in blackened skies
Lies buried in the sand

The Pierrot dances on
In ever faster paces
The mask remains in place
And nothing ever changes
The headlines scream the news
As another scandal rages
But the Pierrot dances on
Still nothing ever changes

Gentleman
No doubt there is a lot frustration and fear and pain
I see you isolate the joy and now you search of fame
And the balance of your past and your brain
Remember that the rhythm of life will sustain
GentlemanWhen will whe find our ways find and unify
Said we’ll never know if we will never give or try
So long we have been living in confusion
Never came to realise we dwell in our illusion

The Pierrot dances on
Another scandal rages
But the Pierrot dances on

No doubt there is a lot frustration and fear and pain
I see you isolate the joy and now you search of fame
And the balance of your paste and your brain
GentlemanRemember that the rhythm of life will sustain
When will we find our ways find and unify
Said we’ll never know if we will never give or try
So long we have been living in confusion
Never came to realise we dwell in our illusion

Clinton Fearon – Sleepin’ Lion

Don’t trouble trouble ‘cause trouble will double trouble you
Mr. Speaker
Talk as much as you want but don’t try to change us
Don’t trouble trouble ‘cause trouble will double trouble you
Mr. Big Man
Help us if you can but don’t try to fix us

Don’t play fish if you can’t swim
Don’t play with fire if you don’t wanna get burn
Life is a gamble so they say
But what what shall we win at the end of the day

Experience is the greatest teacher of all
No need for defense
If we learn our lessons well
Oh, oh take care of creation
There’s so much to gain
Woh woh woh woh we’ve got nothing to lose

A little bit of wisdom worth more than gold
Can’t be bought
Can’t be sold
If you spit in the sky it will fall in your eyes
Once bitten and twice shy

Experience is the greatest teacher of all
No need for defense
If we learn our lessons well
Oh, oh take care of creation
There’s so much to gain
Woh woh woh woh we’ve got nothing to lose

Don’t trouble trouble ‘cause trouble will double trouble you
Even if you’re tough like iron
Don’t trouble trouble ‘cause trouble will double trouble you
Never wake a sleeping lion

Don’t trouble trouble ‘cause trouble will double trouble you
Mr. Speaker
Talk as much as you want but don’t try to change us
Don’t trouble trouble ‘cause trouble will double trouble you
Mr. Big Man
Help us if you can but don’t try to fix us
Don’t trouble trouble

Johnny Too Bad

Walking down the road
With a pistol in your waist
Johnny you’re too bad
Walking down the road
With a ratchet in your waist
Johhny you’re too bad

(chorus)

You’re just robbin’ and stabbin’
And lootin’ and shootin’
You’re too bad (repeat)

One of these days
When you hear a voice say come,
Where you gonna run to?
One of these days
When you hear a voice say come,
Where you gonna run to?

(chorus)

You’re gonna run to the rock
For rescue, there will be no rock
You’re gonna run to the rock
For rescue, there will be no rock

Lucky Dube – Victims

Didn’t know she was crying
Until now as she turns to look at me
She said boy o’ boy you bring tears to my eyes
I said what
She said boy o’ boy you bring tears to my eyes

Bob Marley said
How long shall they kill our prophets
While we stand aside and look
But little did he know that eventually
The enemy will stand aside and look
While we slash and
Kill our own brothers
Knowing that already
They are the victims of the situation
Still licking wounds from brutality
Still licking wounds from humiliation
She said these words
And the wrinkles on her face
Became perfect trails for the tears and she said

Chorus (3x)
We are the victims everytime
We’ve got double trouble everytime

She took me outside
To the churchyard
Showed me graves on the ground
And she said
There lies a man
Who fought for equality
There lies a boy
Who died in his struggle
Can all these heroes die in vain
While we slash and
Kill our own brothers
Knowing that already
They are the victims of the situation
Still licking wounds from brutality
Still licking wounds from humiliation

Chorus (tot einde)
We are the victims everytime
We’ve got double trouble everytime

Guiltiness – Bob Marley

Guiltiness
(talkin ‘bout guiltiness)
Rest on their conscience
Oh Yeah…
Oh Yeah-eah…
And they live a life
(they live a life)
Of false pretends, everyday
Each and everyday, yeah

These are the big fish
(these are BIG fish)
Who always try to eat down
The small fish
A just a small fish
I tell you again
They would do anythi-ing
To materialize
Their every wish
Oh-ohh, yeah-eah-eah-eah-eah

But they
Woe to the downpressors
They’ll eat the bread of sorrow
Woe to the downpressors
They’ll eat the bread of sad tomorro-ow
Woe to the downpressors
They’ll eat the bread of sorrow
Oh, yeah-eah
Oh, yeah-eah-eah-eah

Guiltiness
(talkin ‘bout guiltiness)
Rest on their conscience
Oh yeah-eah…
Oh yeah…
These are the big fish
(these are BIG fish)
Who always try to eat down
The small fish
A just a small fish

And I tell you what
They would do anything (anything)
To materialize
Their every wish
Oh-oh, yeah-eah-eah-eah-eah-eah

But woe
Woe to the downpressors
They’ll eat the bread of sorrow
Woe to the downpressors
They’ll eat the bread of sad tomorrow
Woe to the downpressors
They’ll eat the bread of sad tomorrow
Oh, yeah-eah
Oh, yeah-eah-eah-eah-eah-eah

Guiltiness!
Oh yeah
Ahh!
They’ll eat the bread of sorrow (everyday)
Every da-a-a-a-y (oh yeah)
Yeah,
They’ll eat the bread of sad tomorrow
(every day)
Yeah

Small Axe – Lyrics

[Intro]

Why boasteth thyself
Oh evil men
Playing smart
And not being clever
Oh-no

I say you’re working iniquity
To achieve vanity yeah
If a-so a-so

But the goodness
Of Jah Jah
Idureth for Iver

If you are the big tree
We are the small axe
Sharpened to cut you down
Ready to cut you down
Oh, yeah,

These are the words
Of my master
Keep on tellin’ me, o-oh
No weak heart
Shall prosper
Oh no they can’t, hey, and

Whosoever diggeth a pit, Lord
Shall fall in it
Shall fall in it
Whosoever diggeth a pit
Shall bury in it
Shall bury in it

If you are a big tree
We are the small axe
Sharpened to cut you down
Ready, to cut you down

Bob Marley [Instrumental break]

And whosoever diggeth the pit
Shall fall in it
Fall in it
Hey
Whosoever diggeth the pit
Shall bury in it
Shall bury in it

If you have a big tree
We have a small axe
Ready to cut you down
Sharpened to cut you down, oh

If you are a big tree
Let me tell you this
We are the small axe
Ready to cut you down
Sharpened to cut you down

If you have a, ohhh, tree now
[Fadeout]
